Mr. Kass was admitted to the Bar of the District of Columbia in September, 1960, and to the Bar of the State of Maryland in 1989. He is married to the former Salme Lundstrom and has one daughter, Gale, and one son, Brian. They reside in Washington, D.C.

In 1994, Mr. Kass was selected to be a Charter member of the College of Community Association Lawyers.

Mr. Kass writes a periodic column for The Washington Post, entitled "Housing Counsel".
